As a Third Party Administrator (TPA) SOUTH CENTRAL Preferred provides a complete line of claims administrative services in addition to the most comprehensive Preferred Provider Network in South Central Pennsylvania.  Our services are competitively priced and offered only to those employers who also use our PPO Network.

Benefit Plan Flexibility - As an ERISA eligible employer, you are allowed to design a benefit plan that meets your needs and the needs of your employees.  You are not required to follow state mandated health and welfare benefits.

Costs Based on Your Experience - When you pay premiums to an insurance company you may be paying for more than your own employee’s costs.  Some insurance plans "community rate" premiums requiring all groups to pay the same rate for coverage, regardless of actual usage.  With self-funding you never pay more than the negotiated cost of the care your employees receive.

Lower Administrative Costs - Most insurance companies and HMOs have administrative costs that consume 10-15% of each premium dollar you pay.  SOUTH CENTRAL Preferred's administrative fees are priced to provide you with significant savings when compared to insurance company charges.  Also, self-funded companies do not pay Pennsylvania Insurance Premium Tax.

Improved Cash Flow - When you buy insurance you pay a fixed premium each month, even when your actual expenses are less.  This can result in your surplus funds earnings interest for your insurance carrier.  Self-funded clients fund the exact amount of the checks being mailed, on the day they are mailed, resulting in improved cash flow for you.

Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) - The growth in new pharmaceuticals during the past five years has been dramatic.  Employers have seen a corresponding growth in the benefit dollars spent to purchase drugs, old and new. SOUTH CENTRAL Preferred has an exclusive arrangement with Express Scripts, one of the top five pharmacy benefit management companies in the country.  Through Express Scripts, we can assist you in providing a pharmacy benefit at a price you can afford.

Preferred Provider Network Choice – Availability of preferred hospitals and doctors is not only important to your employees but also helps you control costs.  In addition to the SOUTH CENTRAL Preferred Network in Adams, Franklin and York counties, we also can provide access through other regional and national networks.  Locally, we utilize the PrimeSource Health Network, Preferred Health Care Network and Berkshire Health Plan.  In Maryland, we access the Alliance PPO.  We can also make the Multiplan Network available as a national resource for employees living or traveling in other states.
